My Footprints is His Footprints in the Sand - Laetitia Zeeman
I was walking along the beach
talking to God this morning.
Afterwards we swam in the sea, and when I walked out of the water to sun
bathe till dry, I saw only one set of footprints in the sand.
Remember the poem “Footprints in
the Sand”?
Well, I don't agree with it.
Footprints in the Sand
One night I dreamed I was walking
along the beach with the Lord.
Many
scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed
footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I
noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see
only one set of footprints, so I said to the
Lord,
“You promised me Lord, that if I
followed you, you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the
most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the
sand.
Why, when I needed you most, have
you not been there for me?”
The Lord replied, “The years when
you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”

It’s been quite a while that this
poem simply bothers me, because it’s simply not the truth and misrepresents
God.
When I look back at my life, I
always saw just one set of footprints.
Why? Not even once did I ever ask
God if He left me, because He was always in me and I am in Him. Not even once, were there EVER two sets of
footprints in the sand.
Living within you is the Christ
who floods you with the expectation of glory! This mystery of Christ, embedded
within us, becomes a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of
glory for his people, and God wants everyone to know it!
(Colossians 2:27-29 – The Passion
Translation).
My old identity has been
co-crucified with Christ and no longer lives.
The essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One
lives through me – we live in union as one!
My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so
much that he gave himself for me, and dispenses his life into mine!
(Galatians 2:20 – The Passion Translation).
You are God’s dream in the flesh
and maybe, when you get the revelation that He is actually in you, you will make
much wiser decisions concerning not only your spirit, but also concerning your
soul and your body.
What do you feed
your spirit, soul and body? Whatever you
take in, you become.
“Therefor if any person is (engrafted in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature
altogether); the old (previous moral and spiritual condition) has passed
away. Behold the fresh and new has
come!”
(2 Cor 5:17 – Amplified).
Engrafted is like becoming one.
Engrafted is like becoming one.
Christ’s resurrection is your
resurrection too. This is why we are to
yearn for all that is above, for that’s where Christ sits enthroned at the
place of all power, honor, and authority! Yes, feast on all the treasures of
the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with
the distractions of the natural realm.
You are not a human being having
a spiritual experience.
You are a spiritual being having
a humanly experience.
Jesus is not in your heart.
Christ fills your whole body. You
represent Him on earth. You manifest Him
on earth.
“Your crucifixion with Christ has
severed the tie to this life, and now your true life is hidden away in God in
Christ. And as Christ himself is seen
for who he really is, who you really are will also be revealed, for you are now
one with him in his glory!”
(Colossians
3 The Passion Translation).
“So when that day comes, you will know that I
am living in the Father and that you are one with me, for I will be living in
you”. (John 14:20 – The Passion
Translation).
“Jesus replied, “Loving me
empowers you to obey my word. And my Father will love you so deeply that we
will come to you and make you our dwelling place”.
(John 14:23 – The Passion Translation).
“Don’t you realize that together
you have become God’s inner sanctuary and that the Spirit of God makes his
permanent home in you?”
(1 Corinthians
3:16 The Passion Translation).
“He rebuked them, saying, “The
Scriptures declare, ‘My Father’s house is to be filled with prayer – a house of
prayer, not a cave of bandits!”
(Luke
19:46 The Passion Translation).
Jesus was not talking about the
temple (as a building). He was talking
about His body, your body.
You are in Him and He is in you …
therefor there will always be just one set of footprints in the sand.
