Speak LIFE! - Laetitia van Schalkwyk
Have you noticed how quickly you
can become discouraged or deflated when you hear something negative come out of
your own mouth or someone else’s?
Have you also noticed how your
entire day can brighten up when a kind work is spoken to you?
Most of us know the truth written
in Proverbs 18:21 but unfortunately, we don’t always live it.
Philippians 4:8 in the Passion
Translation says:
Keep your thoughts continually
fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable, and admirable, beautiful,
and respectful, pure, and holy, merciful, and kind. And fasten your thoughts on
every glorious work of God, praising him always.
Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as a man
thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
Proverbs 4:23 says “Above all
else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
Therefore, it is so important to
guard your heart and your mind because what is in your mind and in your heart will
overflow through your mouth.
Ask yourself these questions:
Are my thoughts authentic? Real?
Honorable? Admirable? Beautiful? Respectful? Pure? Holy? Merciful? Kind?
When your thoughts are authentic
and real, the words that flow from your mouth will be the same.
It is so important to have the
revelation of how crucial it is to speak life.
Not only over yourself and
others, but also our country.
Instead of speaking a negative
word over our country, speak life.
Joel 2:25 says I will restore to
you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer,
and the cutter.”
Life is not about finding
yourself. Life is about creating yourself, becoming so aware of Christ in you
that you will engage Him, inside you, draw from within and speak like Jesus
speaks.
Ephesians 4:29 in the NLT says:
“Let everything you say be good
and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.”
Jeremiah 29:11 in the NLT says:
“For I know the plans I have for
you, declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to
give you hope and a future.”
Your words have influence. In the
same way God offers us hope, encouragement, and comfort, we can speak thoughtful
words to others. Such a small thing, but what an enormous difference. There are
people out there, crying out to hear words of life.
Decide today to ALWAYS speak
LIFE!
